Cool it!
Much has been said about Southern summers. In fact, I can think of nothing that better defines Southern culture than our Summers. From our prominent front porches that became a part of our culture out of the necessity to escape the heat indoors, to our languid pace of life that I firmly believe began because it was too hot to move or speak any faster, and even down to the fabrics we wear (seersucker and linen), this oppressive heat has defined who we are better than anything else.
